Chief Randy Gallegos is a Consultant at Command Group. Chief Gallegos brings extensive experience from more than twenty-five years of service in leadership positions with the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Most recently, Chief Gallegos served as the USBP Chief Patrol Agent. While in this position, Chief Gallegos was responsible for all planning and direction of sector-wide border enforcement efforts in the Great Lakes Region (Detroit Sector). Chief Gallegos was charged with directing operations and managing over 500 uniformed and civilian personnel within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) National Security Plan and the USBP National Strategy. In this capacity, Chief Gallegos also served as a Lead Field Coordinator in CBP’s National Emergency Preparedness and Incident Management Program. Prior to his service in the Detroit Sector, Chief Gallegos served as an Assistant Chief, USBP assigned to the Office of Border Patrol headquarters in Washington D.C. In this role, Chief Gallegos was responsible for collaborating with senior USBP managers in the formulation and development of USBP Objectives. His areas of focus included national facilities, infrastructure, remote surveillance, air operations, and uniform programs, including serving as the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative on the national uniform and body armor contracts. Previously, Chief Gallegos served on a U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) International Training Team as a member of a five-person joint Border Patrol/Immigration Officer international training team. In this capacity, Chief Gallegos provided training on a variety of border-centric topics at the International Law Enforcement Academy, Budapest, Hungary and Pretoria, South Africa. This task force provided training to mid- and upper-level law enforcement managers from numerous eastern bloc countries, as well as the South African Police Service. Chief Gallegos is a graduate from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He and his wife, Linda, have two daughters and a son. |
