Mr. John Quattrone is a Consultant at Command Group. He is a retired United States Air Force (USAF) Colonel with twenty-five years of experience in physical protection systems, antiterrorism/force protection, risk analysis and mitigation, threat assessment, vulnerability assessment, critical infrastructure protection, and chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive threats.
Most recently, Mr. Quattrone served as the Team Chief for the Joint Staff Integrated Vulnerability Assessment Team at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency at the U.S. Department of Defense. In this capacity, Mr. Quattrone led over 300 vulnerability/critical infrastructure protection assessments worldwide including in high threat areas of Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Africa. His innovative security mitigation measures significantly contributed to saving lives and improving Department of Defense’s security posture.
Prior to his appointment as Team Chief, Mr. Quattrone served as the Installation Commander at Ghedi Air Base in Italy. In this role, Mr. Quattrone was the commander responsible for executing a $13.5M annual budget and assuring comprehensive infrastructure and mission support for critical US national security weapons valued at over $500M committed to NATO’s 6th Wing in the Italian Air Force.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Quattrone served as the Antiterrorism Operations Officer for the Operations Directorate of the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. As the principal Antiterrorism advisor to the Deputy Director for Antiterrorism and Homeland Defense, Mr. Quattrone oversaw the planning, organizing, and scheduling of SECDEF’s integrated vulnerability assessments ensuring Department of Defense’s ability to protect personnel and Infrastructure against terrorism. Additionally, Mr. Quattrone synthesized global terrorist threat data for the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Secretary of Defense for restricted Homeland Security Council meetings with the President of the United States.
Mr. Quattrone is a graduate of the Joint and Combined Warfighting School, Air Command and Staff College, and the Air War College. In addition to his military education, Mr. Quattrone holds a Master of Public Administration from Troy State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree from California State University, Sacramento.
Mr. Quattrone is recipient of the Defense Superior Service Medal which is awarded by the Secretary of Defense to members of the United States Armed Forces who have rendered superior meritorious service while serving in a position of great responsibility. Mr. Quattrone was twice recognized for having the best security unit in the USAF.
