Dana Brown

Mr. Dana A. Brown is a Consultant at Command Group. Mr. Brown is a recognized expert in the fields of criminal investigation, aviation security, and protective operations. With three decades of experience at two federal law enforcement agencies, he has extensive operational and management experience in complex criminal investigations, executive protection operations, protective intelligence, inspections and audits, crisis and consequence management, and continuity of operations.
 
Most recently in government, Mr. Brown served as Director of the Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) and Assistant Administrator for Law Enforcement at the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA). In this capacity, he was the senior law enforcement representative for TSA and managed all security personnel, operations, and initiatives for the entirety of FAMS. Prior to his appointment as Director, Mr. Brown also served as Chief of Staff of FAMS where he played an integral role in reforming policy and operations in the wake of the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. While at TSA, Mr. Brown received the prestigious DHS Silver Medal Award as well as the TSA John W. Magaw Values Award.
 
Before serving with TSA, Mr. Brown led a distinguished career with the U.S. Secret Service (USSS), culminating with his service as Assistant Director and Chief Financial Officer for the Office of Administration, where he managed the first ever USSS $1B combined budget authority. As Assistant Director, Mr. Brown led five divisions of USSS and was responsible for management of all USSS personnel and financial operations.
 
Also with USSS, Mr. Brown served as Deputy Assistant Director for Operations in the Office of Protective Intelligence, where he directed the operations of countless protective intelligence advances ensuring the safety of the President, Vice President and other senior U.S. and foreign officials. Mr. Brown also served as both Special Agent-in-Charge and Deputy Special Agent in Charge in the Financial Crimes Division. In this role, Mr. Brown directed all USSS activity in the emerging field of credit card fraud and created the Electronic Crimes Special Agent Program. Additionally, Mr. Brown served as Special Agent-in-Charge in the Asset Forfeiture Division, and Deputy Inspector-in-Charge for the Office of Inspection.
 
In the private sector, Mr. Brown has held several senior executive positions at Vance International, an investigation and security consulting firm, including Vice President for Global Services. Mr. Brown is also a former Marine who served with distinction in Vietnam, where he received the Combat Action Ribbon and Purple Heart. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
