AEO programs are becoming increasingly common around the world and viewed by many as a necessary tool for a country to maintain economic competitiveness through trade. Such a program is particularly critical in a world-leading trade hub like Dubai which is home to the world’s 9th largest container terminal, Jebel Ali, and the largest cargo airport in the region, Al Maktoum International. CT Strategies is proud to be a part of this effort, facilitating global trade and strengthening the global economy.
Beginning on September 1st, 2015, CT Strategies will begin working with Swedish-based KGH Border Services and Dubai Customs to create an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program. The program will create a risk management system in which Dubai Customs will offer industry participants, on a voluntary basis, trade facilitation benefits including faster processing, in exchange for supply chain security and financial control assurances. A multi-month series of workshops, led by experienced former U.S. and European Customs leaders, will be held with Dubai Customs officials, instructing them on risk management protocols and best practices for conducting security and control validations.
