Medical & Public Health Emergencies

Command Consulting Group’s medical expertise is built on a team of physicians who have developed and executed medical contingency preparedness plans and programs at the highest levels of the U.S. government and in the private sector. CCG Physicians have expertise in emergency medicine, trauma, aviation medicine, public health, medical intelligence, infectious disease, telemedicine, travel medicine, and the management of medical casualties caused by weapons of mass destruction including chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high yield explosives (CBRNE). Their experience base ranges from directing all health and medical support for the President of the United States during both the Clinton and Bush Administrations, to providing multi-national organizations with critical medical information and analysis in support of their international operations, to service in leadership positions in the U.S. Army, the US Navy, the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and the Department of Homeland Security.

The nature of their experiences has taken them outside the typical medical environments to extensive work in integrating medical considerations into requirements development and program management required for contingency facility development and full-spectrum security management. Additionally, CCG physicians have extensive experience in planning for and responding to all types of medical and public health disasters including incidents of terrorism as well as incidents due to natural causes.

In executing this work, team members routinely interacted with the US Congress, US Secret Service, international diplomats and security managers, corporate managers, as well as US federal, state, local, tribal, and international health system leaders, Additionally, they have provided expert medical consultation to all of the major U.S. Combatant Commands and other cabinet level departments including the Departments of Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, State, and Veterans Affairs, as well as international governments and other organizations.

CCG physicians remain active in the practice of medicine, both clinically and through active academic careers, and have published and lectured extensively in the areas of emergency medicine, disaster management, the medical effects of biological weapons and medical informatics.
